Those who create are famous or forgotten for many reasons.

Societies throughout human history have elevated or suppressed those who create. Sometimes, an artist is supporting the status quo of a region. Other times, an artist questions and challenges societal norms. Skill, passion, innovation or mediocrity might help an artist to have fame and fortune or might cause an artist to be forgotten or even be in danger.
