writing with light…

Photography has changed how we, as 21st century citizens, see each other and the world around us.

Early photography in the mid-1800s emerged through experiments with light and chemical processes from potato starch to silver halides. As cameras and photo images became more and more available, society changed as images of wars, family portraits or science were seen with new eyes. The new technology reached into many realms - personal, political, leisure, entertainment, education - and changed what was taken for fact or fantasy. How we see changes with new tools, and we now are immersed in combinations of analog and digital photographic processes. New aesthetics continue to develop around ‘writing with light.’
